Poresky Co-Presents ASCE Seminar on Stormwater Low Impact Development Applications

ATLANTA (June 13, 2011)—Geosyntec water resources engineer, Aaron Poresky, P.E., has been selected as a co-presenter for the 2-day seminar series on Low Impact Development (LID) Applications for Water Resources Management sponsored by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Aaron will be partnering with Rod Frederick, P.E., D.WRE., of Michael Baker, Jr., Inc., to present strategies that can be applied by engineers, designers, planners, and landscape architects to new and retrofit projects for urban stormwater management.
Aaron and Rod will leverage their respective firms’ nationwide experience to provide attendees with practical, state-of-the-science information about planning, design, and implementation of LID applications.
The curriculum will include case studies to illustrate the availability and applicability of decentralized controls to manage stormwater flows. Aaron will discuss recent experience working with local/regional agencies in the development of guidance documents to bring advances in water resources planning to emerging and existing programs. He will be discussing how new master planned communities are incorporating LID design principles into the site development process. Aaron will also discuss how the information in the International BMP Database (
www.bmpdatabase.org
) Urban Stormwater Monitoring Manual can be used to refine LID monitoring approaches.
