Geosyntec to Present at Upcoming Battelle International Symposium in Reno, Nevada June 27 – 30, 2011

Reno, Nev.—Geosyntec will be well represented at the June 27 – 30 Battelle International Symposium on Bioremediation and Sustainable Environmental Technologies in Reno, with two employees serving on the Steering Committee, one serving as a Session Chair, five giving platform talks, and two presenting posters.  In total, 20 Geosyntec engineers and scientists served as contributing or lead authors for sessions at this conference.

  • James Wang,Ph.D., P.E., will give a platform presentation on Electrokinetic Technology for Innovative Bioremediation Amendment Delivery and Bioaugmentation Strategy, on Tuesday, June 28 at 8:25 a.m. in Tuscany 12.
  • Bruce Marvin, M.S., P.E., will give a platform presentation on Combining In-situ Chemical and Biological Treatment: Case Examples Illustrating Concepts for Coupling Technologies on Thursday, June 30 at 2:15 pm in Tuscany 12.
  • Todd Creamer. P.G., will present a poster on Multi-Faceted Sustainable Remediation Strategy for Tetrachloroethene Released in a Complex Urban Environment on Wednesday, June 29 from 5:15 – 6:45 p.m.
  • Derek Tomlinson, M.A.Sc., P.E., L.S.R.P., will give a platform presentation on Managing Thin Layers of LNAPL:  Sustainability Meets Recoverability on Wednesday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. in Tuscany 11, and will also serve as Session Chair.
  • Leah MacKinnon, M.A.Sc., will give a platform presentation on Application of EISB Following ERH for Remediation of VOCs, and a poster on In Situ Abiotic and Biotic Remediation Alternatives to Pump-and-Treat for Chlorinated Methanes and Ethanes.

Geosyntec staff will also support several client presentations, including:

  • NASA’s Robert Kline will give a platform presentation on Using Solar Powered Groundwater Recirculation to Enhance Reductive Dechlorination at Kennedy Space Center, with Geosyntec’s Jim Langenbach, P.E.
  • U.S. Geological Survey’s Anna Baker will give a platform presentation on Footprint Reduction and Renewable Resource Usage during Anaerobic Chlorinated Solvent Removal at a Water Treatment Facility with Geosyntec’s Duane Graves, Ph.D.
  • U.S. Geological Survey’s Michelle Lorah will give a platform presentation on Transformation Products and Rates for Chlorinated Ethanes and Ethenes by an Anaerobic Dechlorinating Consortium, also with Geosyntec’s Duane Graves, Ph.D.
