Geosyntec Water Resources Professionals Present at Annual California Stormwater Quality Association Conference

Release Date: 09/30/11
CASQA Award Presentation for Legacy Park Project

Geosyntec Consultants is pleased to announce that the California Stormwater Quality Association (CASQA) selected the Malibu Legacy Park Project to receive the 2011 Outstanding Stormwater BMP Implementation Project – Comprehensive Regional Project.  The selection was announced at the CASQA 7th Annual Conference on September 27 in Monterey, California.  This year's conference was co-chaired by Geosyntec's Lisa Austin, P.E. (Oakland).  The City of Malibu, the project's owner, relied on Geosyntec Consultants to provide stormwater consulting and design, hydrologic modeling; groundwater mounding analysis; geotechnical engineering consulting and design; field investigation and reporting; and permitting services during the project implementation phase.  According to City Manager, Jim Thorsen, "Legacy Park demonstrates Malibu's ongoing commitment to clean water, protecting the environment, and promoting a sustainable community and lifestyle for generations to come."  The CASQA award for the Legacy Park Project follows on the heels of the Outstanding Sustainability Project recognition received from the American Society of Engineers (ASCE) Metropolitan Los Angeles Branch earlier this year.

Once again, Geosyntec practitioners were represented among the authors of presentations at this year's CASQA conference that focused on TMDLs, Sustainable Development, and Low Impact Development BMPs.
