Adrienne Nemura to Discuss Federal Mandates at Mayors Water Summit in Washington

Adrienne Nemura, P.E., an associate water resources engineer based in Geosyntec's Michigan office, will participate in a panel discussion on federal policy October 4 at the United States Conference of Mayors' (USCM) Mayors Water Summit in Washington, D.C.

Nemura will participate on the summit's Federal Water and Wastewater Mandates panel beginning at 3 p.m. at the Washington Plaza Hotel, 10 Thomas Circle. The panel moderator is Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, the mayor of Baltimore, Maryland.

Nemura has more than 25 years of experience in helping municipal clients identify cost-effective and sustainable solutions to meet their receiving water quality permit requirements. She has provided services for more than 35 municipal wastewater utilities as well as numerous state and federal regulatory agencies, industrial clients, airport authorities, attorneys, consulting firms, non-profit organizations, and trade associations.

Nemura frequently helps clients evaluate the impact of their discharges to receiving waters, including discharges from wastewater treatment plants, combined sewer overflows (CSOs), sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs), industrial outfalls, and municipal separate storm sewer systems (MS4s).

The USCM is the official, non-partisan organization of cities with populations of 30,000 or more. There are 1,295 such cities in the country today. Conference members speak with a united voice on organizational policies and goals. Mayors contribute to the development of national urban policy by serving on one or more of the conference's standing committees.
