Marcus Ford, CGeol.
Marcus Ford is a principal hydrogeologist based in the United Kingdom with more than 20 years experience in the assessment of contaminated land and groundwater remediation, particularly properties impacted by past industrial operations. He has applied his expertise across a broad range of sites including those with contamination by pharmaceutical wastes, chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, and organic chemical residuals.
Dr. Ford specializes in helping clients understand and prioritize programs to manage contaminated land and broader environmental liability issues, developing cost-effective, practical remedies using the latest proven technologies. For example, he served as the project director for a detailed multi-phase soil and groundwater investigation and remediation program at a site in the United Kingdom with three principal contaminant plumes and a source area involving VOC-contaminated sludge. He also served as the project director for the investigation and remediation of site portfolio included active and former chemical manufacturing sites and chemical waste landfill.
In addition, Dr. Ford leads projects involving property transactions (due diligence) and facility permitting/compliance. For example, he served as the project director for 30 transaction-driven environmental due diligence assessments at industrial facilities and premises in the UK and Republic of Ireland. These locations had current and former uses involving relatively simple light engineering and assembly operations to relatively large and complex manufacturing installations such as pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing plants.
