Andy Nelson Partners with FABIG to Organize Technical Meeting

Andy Nelson (Australia) a Senior Principal at MMI Engineering, a division of Geosyntec, helped organize a half-day technical meeting entitled "Managing Fire and Explosion Risk on Ageing Assets" with Fire and Blast Information Group (FABIG) in Melbourne, Australia on May 25, 2017.

Andrew Nelson is a Senior Principal Engineer based in Australia with more than 20 years of experience in technical safety engineering and risk management. His practice is focused on hazardous industries including upstream and downstream oil and gas. He co-developed Geosyntec's major hazards assessment capability and supported the development of Geosyntec's major hazards engineering team.

FABIG's mission is to disseminate knowledge and best practice, and to develop guidance on the prevention and mitigation of fires and explosions and the protection of people and facilities from such hazards.

To this end, FABIG maintains contact with key industry experts and researchers to keep abreast of current technical challenges and ongoing research. Relevant technical information is disseminated to the membership via the quarterly Technical Meetings and Newsletters, and Technical Notes are produced to provide practicing engineers with detailed guidance on challenging fire and explosion related design issues.
