ATLANTA, Ga. — Geosyntec Consultants welcomes Ersin Yalcin, CSP, as a Corporate Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager serving its North American locations east of the Rocky Mountains.
Ersin comes to Geosyntec with over 11 years of experience in the field of safety, industrial hygiene, and risk management with an emphasis in Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) and demolition programs within the private and public sectors. Ersin has also managed the safety program at high risk demolition and decommissioning projects at major petrochemical manufacturing facilities and provided on-site safety support for a "Big Box" retail site developer related to fire codes compliance.
In his career, Ersin has served as Site Safety Officer for several local and federal agencies including the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), District of Columbia Public Schools Asbestos Abatement/School Renovation program, Keesler Air Force Base Post-Hurricane Katrina Military Family Housing Demolition program, as well as a number of agency-led Superfund sites.
Ersin will lead the EHS activities and programs for Geosyntec offices and projects in the Eastern portion of the US and Canada, working with Geosyntec's locally-based network of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Coordinators. He will provide technical guidance, EH&S program compliance assistance and project-specific consulting services to Geosyntec's operations staff. Geosyntec is pleased to have Ersin join our team as he represents Geosyntec's ongoing commitment to invest in the workplace and job site safety of our staff, our clients, our peers and colleagues, and the stakeholder communities in which we live and work.
Ersin received his BS in environmental health sciences from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and is a Certified Safety Professional. He will be based in our Atlanta Regional Office in Kennesaw, Georgia.
