Geosyntec employees will be presenting at the Ekos Brazil Seminar, entitled "International Seminar for Remediation and Development of Contaminated Sites," at Senac Santo Amaro on September 28-29, 2016.
Dr. Gary Wealthall, Dr. Silvia Mancini, Michaye McMaster, Dr. Gavin Grant, and Grant Scholes from Ontario will attend the conference. Dr. Gavin Grant and Grant Scholes will be representing Savron, a division of Geosyntec.
Session 7 entitled "Investigation Technologies – Real Time Investigation" will be presented by Dr. Gary Wealthall. He will discuss "Advances in the Characterization of Contaminated Sites to Meet Site Specific Remedial Objectives in Complex Geologies." Gary was also invited to lead a workshop regarding "Innovative Site Characterization and Advanced Conceptual Site Model Development." The workshop forms part of a series of events organized by NICOLE Brazil and EKOS, where national and international experts bring technical and practical information related to the themes of the conference.
Dr. Silvia Mancini was invited to give a presentation on Compound Specific Isotope Analysis for Forensic Evaluation of Contamination Sources and Integration in Conceptual Site Models.
Michaye McMaster will give a presentation entitled "Application of Smoldering Remediation at a Former Manufacturing Facility."
The Seminar gathers international experts, members of the public and private sector to discuss technologies, concepts of remediation, brownfields management, and revitalization of contaminated sites. The event is one of the most significant seminars in Latin America with more than 300 people in attendance and it represents over 136 organizations.
For 12 years Ekos Brazil has met its goal of providing an event for networking, distribution of knowledge, and creating skill and practice exchange for professionals working in the sector.
