Ravi Arulanantham (California) was invited by U.S. EPA and the Office of Underground Storage Tanks (OUST) program to provide two training webinars for the U.S. EPA's new employees and state regulators on the topic of risk-based corrective action (RBCA) on October 5 and November 6, 2017.
The webinar held on October 5, 2017 will be a 90-minute basic RBCA training and the webinar held on November 6, 2017 will be a 90-minute advanced RBCA training.
These webinars will be nationwide training sessions with more than 250 U.S. EPA and state regulators in attendance. These trainings are only for U.S. EPA employees and state regulators.
The trainings will cover the following topics:
- Understanding RBCA to better manage contaminated sites
- Key elements of site characterization, exposure assessment, toxicity evaluation, and risk assessment
- How to validate and present a conceptual site model (CSM) to stakeholders.
- The role of risk management in decision-making and common misconceptions about the RBCA process.
Ravi Arulanantham is a Senior Principal Toxicologist based in California with more than 20 years of experience focused on risk assessment and remediation management. He is recognized as a leader in applying risk-based decision-making to the development of remediation strategies for environmentally impacted sites.
