AW Armstrong Joins Geosyntec's Operational Risk Management Practice in Austin, Texas

Geosyntec is pleased to announce Alfred W. (AW) Armstrong has joined the firm as a Senior Principal in our Austin, Texas office. AW will take a leading role in the development of the firm's operational risk management practice.

AW has more than 20 years of consulting experience focused in the areas of compliance assurance, operational risk management (ORM), Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) management systems, procedure documentation and improvements, causal analyses, and liability assessment and valuations.  AW has extensive experience working directly with client leadership to assess complex problems within their operations and help develop innovative solutions. His experience spans a variety of industries, including beverage, castings, mining, petrochemicals, railroads, refining, and specialty chemicals. 

Since 2010, AW has been serving on Texas A&M's Mary Kay O' Connor Process Safety Center's steering committee, where he advises the Center on matters related to management systems, human factors, and
assessments of organizational competence related to process safety. Additionally, he co-chaired a Pollution Prevention Advisory Committee for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), where he
served as a representative helping to increase participation in voluntary regulatory programs.

His specialties are human factors/causal analyses, operational risk management, EHS compliance, process & management systems improvement, and liability management.
