Jason Conder, Ph.D. and Rula Deeb, Ph.D., BCEEM, PMP (California) have been invited to present on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at Fall 2018 Petroleum Environmental Research Forum (PERF) Meeting on Emerging Risk Issues at the Woodlands Resort & Conference Center in Houston, Texas on October 23, 2018.
Jason will discuss PFAS ecotoxicity and ecological risk assessment, and Rula will provide an overview of PFAS chemistry, environmental fate and transport, and remediation advances.
Jason Conder is a Senior Scientist based in California with more than 10 years of experience focused on contaminated site/sediment assessment and management, environmental toxicology, and ecological and human health risk assessment.
Rula Deeb is a Senior Principal Civil and Environmental Engineer based in California with more than 25 years of experience focused on private practice and academia addressing the cross-media fate and transport of emerging contaminants, and the remediation of complex soil and groundwater sites impacted by non-aqueous phase liquids.
The 98th Fall PERF meeting will be hosted by Exxon Mobil. Event topics include the identification and assessment of potential risks such as microplastics, ocean stewardship, decontamination and decommissioning, and fire-fighting foams.
The Petroleum Environmental Research Forum is a non-profit organization created in 1986 to provide a stimulus to and a forum for the collection, exchange, and analysis of research information relating to the development of technology for health, environment and safety, waste reduction and system security in the petroleum industry.
