Janet Goodfellow (Ontario) will present "Industrial Pre-treatment: Going Beyond End-of-Pipe Options" at the Northeast Section of the Ohio Water Environment Association (NESOWEA) Annual Industrial Wastes Seminar at the Days Inn Richfield Banquet and Conference Center in Richfield, Ohio from 11:30-12:15 a.m. EST on February 21, 2019.
Janet is a Principal Engineer based in Ontario with 19 years of professional experience focused on water and wastewater challenges for the food and beverage sector.
The seminar is for industry personnel involved with wastewater, municipal pre-treatment coordinators and supervisors, consultants, equipment suppliers, and other interested in key topics in wastewater.
NESOWEA members consist of Scientists and Laboratory Specialists, Engineers, Treatment Plant and Collection Systems Personnel. Manufacturer's Representatives, Educators and Students, and Regulators. They work through committees and publications to improve the environment and educate the public.
The presentation will provide a broad look at the advantages and disadvantages associated with wastewater treatment upstream (or source treatment) within an industrial processing facility as compared to end-of-pipe wastewater treatment, including case studies. A look at solids separation, oil and grease removal, organic load reduction, and nutrients will be included. The presentation will also include a discussion of the initial investigation and engineering tasks required for source treatment and end-of-pipe treatment since they can be quite different.
