Kenneth J.K. Smith, P.G. (Pennsylvania) recently joined Geosyntec as a Senior Principal Hydrogeologist, focusing on supporting environmental permitting and planning projects for large-scale linear projects in the oil and gas and power sectors.
Ken has more than 32 years of experience in program management and operations management, and his predominant technical experience is liability management and environmental remediation under multiple state and regulatory conditions.
He most recently served as a Senior Program Manager for several petroleum and chemical companies. Prior to that, Ken was with AECOM where his roles included: Northeast Region Practice Leader for Impact Assessment and Permitting, Northeast Region Market Sector Co-Leader for Oil and Gas, and Environmental Business Unit Leader for the Greater Pennsylvania Area.
Prior to AECOM, Ken spent more than 20 years with GES, where he served as a Principal Hydrogeologist specializing in large-scale rapid responses for petroleum releases and was a Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional. In addition, Ken had operations responsibilities, including opening new offices, managing regions, and managing client programs. He also held several strategic leadership and management positions, including corporate quality officer, primary architect, and principal in-charge for the alternative contracting program.
