Rula Deeb, Ph.D., BCEEM, PMP (California) was selected as the recipient of this year's Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG) President's Award.
The award is presented annually to one person who embodies professional excellence as well as demonstrates the "three E's" - encourage, enhance, and exchange. Rula was congratulated by Mackenzie Cremeans, Ph.D., President–Elect, Association for Women Geoscientists "for being such a strong leader in our profession!"
Rula is a Senior Principal Civil and Environmental Consultant based in California with more than 25 years of experience focused on private practice and academia addressing the cross-media fate and transport of contaminants, and the remediation of complex soil and groundwater sites impacted by non-aqueous phase liquids.
The Association for Women Geoscientists is an international organization devoted to enhancing the quality and level of participation of women in geosciences and to introduce girls and young women to geoscience careers. Membership is open to anyone who supports AWG's goals. Its members include professional women and men from industry, government, museums, academia, and K-12 teachers, students, retirees, others interested in supporting our goals.
