OAKLAND, Ca. — Geosyntec is pleased to announce that Lisa Austin, PE, was elected to the California Stormwater Quality Association (CASQA) Board of Directors.
CASQA assists the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) and municipalities throughout the state of California in implementing the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) stormwater mandates of the Federal Clean Water Act. CASQA's membership is comprised of a wide array of stormwater quality management organizations and professionals from across the state. CASQA has multiple subcommittees providing in-depth collaboration on water quality issues statewide.
"My goal as a Board member is to contribute to the advancement of CASQA by bringing the various perspectives that my background affords to the many issues that we confront in stormwater management," Lisa said. __A major portion of her new CASQA role includes working with fellow leaders in developing policies and positions concerning regulations, legislation, and litigation potentially impacting CASQA members.
Lisa has 18 years of water quality and stormwater management experience, which encompasses serving as a state regulator, a municipal stormwater utility staff engineer, and now as a consultant with Geosyntec. __She attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, where she earned a Master's degree in civil engineering and a Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering.
