Bob Anderson at the 17th Annual Comprehensive Conference on Clean Water and Stormwater

Bob Anderson will join the 17th Annual Comprehensive Conference onClean Water and Stormwater at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle at 8:30 a.m. on June 23, 2017.

Bob will address emerging persistent contaminants in water supplies and discuss "Perfluorinated Chemicals (PFCs) like Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) and Perfluorooctanoic Sulfonate (PFOS), 1-4 Dioxane, and various pharmaceuticals: What are they? Where are they used? How do they get into water supplies?"

Bob Anderson is a Senior Principal Hydrogeologist with more than 30 years of experience focused on water resources development and management for clients in the western United States. His technical expertise includes hydrologic characterization, aquifer characterization, groundwater and surface water interaction, probability-based analysis, surface and borehole geophysics, and flow system modeling.

The seminar is hosted by Law Seminars International and it will be discussing Executive Orders and the change in federal policies, adaptation at the state level, and what next for stakeholders. Attorneys, government officials, real estate and environmental professionals, landowners, industry executives and planners are expected to attend.

Participants will take a detailed look at probable changes for federal policy and enforcement and hear from the state Department of Ecology on the scope of its authority and plans for adapting to the federal changes. They will also discuss prospects for increased use of Clean Water Act citizen suits to fill the void left by reduced federal enforcement. Then, investigate the future for wetlands regulation in light of Executive Orders, stormwater as a source of contamination, persistent contaminants as an emerging issue, the practical implications of U.S. EPA disapproval of Washington's Water Quality Standards, and water quality implications of the Hirst Case.
