Jessie Fears and Chris Pracheil to Present Innovative Approaches for Achieving Nutrient Based NPDES Limits

Jessie Fears and Chris Pracheil will present at the Chattanooga Regional Manufacturers Association (CRMA) Environment, Health & Safety Summit at the Chattanooga Convention Center in Tennessee on November 15, 2017.

Their presentation, entitled "Innovative Approaches for Achieving Nutrient Based NPDES Limits," will provide an overview of watershed management strategies and pollutant trading programs, an update on the current status of water quality regulations and how they impact dischargers in Tennessee, and the details about a lab study conducted by Geosyntec to investigate biofiltration media to be used as an innovative stormwater treatment mechanism for achieving permit compliance.

Jessie helps clients understand the effectiveness of remediation approaches with groundwater monitoring data to assess biological treatment of chlorinated solvents, and lab assessments of the performance of bioretention media for stormwater treatment. She currently assists clients with contamination issues at a number of CERCLA sites. Jessie's responsibilities for these projects include using geographic information systems (GIS) to perform site evaluations for remedial operations, technical writing to help clients understand analytical results and proposed remedial actions, and preparing field sampling plans, quality assurance project plans, and project budgets.

Chris is an accomplished environmental scientist with experience developing regulatory Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs), conducting environmental compliance monitoring, performing complex laboratory analyses, conducting data verifications and validations, performing rigorous data assessments, and authoring technical reports and regulatory permits. By using innovative approaches and effective communication, he has developed regulatory compliance and environmental remediation solutions for commercial and industrial clients while also creating lasting partnerships with both the public and private sectors.

The Chattanooga Regional Manufacturers Association Environment, Health & Safety Summit attracts participants from all across the region. The summit brings together professionals who are engaged in creating and applying new methods to address and resolve environmental issues in various fields. Each presenter has extensive knowledge in the subjects they will discuss, and the format allows for participants to choose the various topics that are important to them in their work environment.
