Maureen Roth Earns Young Engineer Award from SAME St. Louis Post

Maureen Roth (Missouri) received the 2017 Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) St. Louis Post Young Engineer Award for outstanding leadership and accomplishments in support of the Society Mission.

Last year Maureen served as the Publicity and Reports Committee Chair. She led the communication of St. Louis Post and area related events to the SAME St. Louis Post members using a monthly newsletter. In addition, she managed the St. Louis Post website and helped coordinate a number of SAME sponsored events.

This year, Maureen will continue her leadership within SAME St. Louis as the Education and Mentoring Committee Chair. She will support STEM outreach in the St. Louis area and manage the selection of college and high school camp scholarship recipients. The St. Louis Post offers three scholarships to qualifying college students and sponsors three high school campers attending the SAME STEM summer camps.

Maureen is an environmental engineer with eight years of experience delivering environmental solutions to clients. Her experience with environmental services includes conceptual site model development, environmental assessments, field investigations, environmental compliance, remediation technologies, risk assessments, and remedial cost estimates. Additionally, she has experience working with geographic information systems (GIS) and relational data management systems for data visualization and analysis. Combining broad environmental expertise with advanced data visualization and analysis, she optimizes site characterization and remedial option selection for clients and regulators.

Her experience also includes hazardous waste characterization and management under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Maureen's attention to detail and extensive knowledge of characterizing hazardous waste under RCRA assists clients with correctly characterizing their waste.

The Society of American Military Engineers is the premier professional military engineering association in the United States. They unite architecture, engineering construction (A/E/C), facility management and environmental entities and individuals in the public and private sectors to prepare for and overcome natural and manmade disasters.
