Joe's presentation is entitled "Best in Class Treatment Technologies for Refinery Wastewater." He is a Principal Environmental Engineer based in New Jersey with more than 42 years of experience focused on industrial wastewater, water reuse, waste to energy, and groundwater remediation.

He specializes in industrial wastewater treatment and his primary clientele are in the pharmaceutical, chemical, food and beverage, distillery, and pulp and paper industries. His areas of expertise include: upfront planning and feasibility studies to develop best technical solution, treatability and pilot studies, process development and modeling, engineering design, construction management, design and build, and operation and maintenance, troubleshooting and training services. He has worked on industrial wastewater projects in the United States, Puerto Rico, Ireland, Mexico, Brazil, Columbia, and China.

The Petroleum Environmental Research Forum is a research and development joint venture whose members are corporations engaged in the petroleum industry that recognize the importance of a clean, healthy environment and are committed to supporting cooperative research and development. PERF does not itself participate in research projects, but provides a forum for members to collect, exchange, and analyze research information relating to practical and theoretical science and technology concerning the petroleum industry. It also provides a mechanism to establish joint research projects in that field.
