Geosyntec Practitioners to Attend and Present at EcoForum 2022
Geosyntec practitioners Frederic Cosme, CPEng, Ir. (Victoria), Travis Kline, MEM, BCES (USA), Kathy Phillips, Ph.D. (Victoria), and Rachael Martin, Ph.D. (New South Wales) will present on topics relating to risk assessment and remediation at EcoForum 2022, August 8 through 10 at NEX in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. Kathy will be a keynote speaker and Frederic will chair a session for the event. The Australasian Land and Groundwater Association (ALGA) is hosting the event.
Frederic Cosme is a Principal Engineer with more than 20 years of experience in environmental consulting and hydrogeology. With extensive experience with fractured rock systems and coastal sites or sites adjacent to surface water, Fred has advanced the state of the practice by pioneering innovative groundwater tracing and remediation techniques.
Travis Kline is a Senior Principal Toxicologist with more than 25 years of experience focused on human health risk assessment and applied toxicology. Travis has experience in litigation support, developing novel approaches and solutions to the characterization of problematic exposures. His recent focus has been on risk-driven advocacy and allocation support at large, multi-Potentially Responsible Party (PRP) Superfund sites in Oregon, Washington, New York, and New Jersey.
Kathy Phillips is a Senior Engineer whose experience includes 12 years of consulting on contaminated site assessment and remediation, including several radiological sites, as well as human health risk assessment. She obtained her doctoral degree in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware with a focus on the behavior of chemicals in the environment.
Rachael Martin is a Senior Environmental Scientist with 12 years of experience conducting environmental and health investigations who specializes in health risk assessment, environmental health, and contaminated sites. Her academic study and publications deal with arsenic and other heavy metals in historical gold mine wastes.
ALGA brings together members of the contamination and remediation industry across Australia, New Zealand, and the surrounding islands to support advances in the prevention, assessment and remediation of contaminated land and groundwater. The association promotes the protection, restoration, and management of land and groundwater for the benefit of human health and the broader environment across Australasia. ALGA's members include land owners, property developers, industry, consultants, scientists, contractors, regulatory agency staff, government, the legal profession, laboratory staff, researchers, and academics.
The annual conference of ALGA, EcoForum aims to share new developments in the contamination and remediation industry and to open the minds of participants to new ways of doing things with the aim of challenging the status quo together. The 2022 conference will be a hybrid event, and registration will include access to event recordings. In-person events include a reception and conference dinner, an exhibition hall, the sessions themselves, and numerous opportunities to network.
