Geosyntec Announces New Office Location in Fresno, California
Geosyntec Consutants is pleased to announce our new location in Fresno, California. Our Fresno office will be home to a number of professionals known internationally for their technology leadership, broad experience, and exceptional client service.
Amer Hussain is the Principal Engineer who will lead the office and focus local efforts on expanding our services to clients in the oil and gas, water resources, solid waste, and sand and gravel mining sectors in California. With more than 25 years of experience, Amer has assisted clients with a variety of projects focused on groundwater assessment and remediation, regulatory compliance and permitting.
A career highlight, Amer was recently instrumental in helping a major oil company navigate the implementation of California's new SB-4 regulations requiring groundwater monitoring programs for well-stimulation activities. He was part of the initial discussions with the regulators on how to meet the requirements while allowing the client to meet the operations deadlines. Other services include evaluating impacts from underground injection control (UIC) wells, sump closures, and aquifer exemptions. He also led the preparation of groundwater degradation studies to support the reuse of oil field produced water for agricultural purposes.
His experience with solid waste projects includes evaluation and detection monitoring, lead engineering for construction quality assurance (CQA), new waste disposal facility lined cells, and the placement of final cover for closure. Amer's other experience includes clean closure of unlined cells and burn dumps.
