Alex McKenzie-Johnson to Chair Geohazard Workshop for Pipeline Research Council International in St. Louis
Alex McKenzie-Johnson, P.G., L.G., L.E.G (Texas) will chair and participate in a panel for the “Geohazard Workshop: Opportunities and Challenges for Pipeline Geohazard Management” at the Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI) meeting at the Marriott St. Louis Grand in Missouri from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on May 13, 2019.
Alex is a Principal Engineering Geologist based in Texas with more than 17 years of professional experience focused on geohazard assessment and management for oil and gas clients.
The purpose of the PRCI meeting will be to try to introduce more geotechnical concepts to non-geotechnical professionals. Pipeline operators with a non-expert understanding of geohazard management will leave with an increased awareness of geohazard management systems both within and outside of the pipeline industry.
Open to PRCI Members, the workshop is suited for pipeline operators, especially integrity budget setters and decision makers, and specialized pipeline technology providers, that are not typically/uniformly geohazard subject matter experts (SMEs). This meeting is scheduled to take place the afternoon prior to the annual 2019 Spring Technical Committee meetings. This is a meeting this is open only to PRCI members and invited contractors with business at the meeting. It is anticipated that there will be 150+ members at the meeting.
