Geosyntec Practitioners Co-Author Several Posters on PFAS at the SETAC North America 40th Annual Meeting

Geosyntec practitioners delivered a number of presentations at the SETAC North America 40th Annual Meeting in Toronto, Ontario on November 3-7, 2019.

Several Geosyntec practitioners presented posters on the topic of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, at the recent Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry SETAC North America 40th Annual Meeting at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto.

PFAS are a family of thousands of man-made compounds that are emerging as potential hazards to human and ecological health due in part to their longevity and persistence in the environment. Geosyntec is considered a leader in the industry in the areas of PFAS assessment and remediation, and SETAC presented an opportunity to inform the industry about the advances we have been able to make.

SETAC celebrated 40 years of science at the SETAC North America 40th Annual Meeting in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Scientists from all sectors – academia, business, government, nonprofit, non-governmental and intergovernmental organizations – met and worked together to find solutions for environmental challenges at regional and global scales. The theme of the meeting, "Great Together: Separate Challenges and Collective Solutions," called upon scientists to take responsibility for the environment.

SETAC is a not-for-profit, worldwide professional organization comprised of more than 6,000 individuals and institutions in l00 countries dedicated to the study, analysis and solution of environmental problems, the management and regulation of natural resources, research and development, and environmental education. Its mission is to support the development of principles and practices for protection, enhancement and management of sustainable environmental quality and ecosystem integrity.
