Scott Struck Named President of ASCE Environmental and Water Resources Institute
After serving on the Governing Board of the Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) for two years, Scott Struck, Ph.D., ENV SP, F.EWRI was recently named President for this more than 26,000-member organization.
Scott is a Principal based in Colorado with more than 18 years of experience focused on distributed and centralized stormwater source control measures, infrastructure planning and prioritization, modeling, design, optimization, monitoring, performance assessment, economic and triple bottom line cost analyses, and integrated watershed planning.
Scott has been a member of EWRI since the early 2000s and served as chair of the Urban Water Resources Research Council between 2011 and 2013. He also served as treasurer of EWRI from 2013 to 2015 and was active on many committees throughout his membership.
As the EWRI President, Scott's 2019 initiatives include: encouraging an active and diverse EWRI community; engaging in partnerships with national and international organizations; improved communications with local EWRI Chapters; and focused participation in environmental policy discussions to bring relevant and up-to-date science and engineering information to decision-makers to better make informed decisions. Scott is proud to represent the many disciplines within EWRI and the outstanding water resource professionals it represents.
