Geosyntec Welcomes Libby McDonald
OAKLAND, Ca. — Geosyntec Consultants is pleased to announce that Elizabeth (Libby) McDonald, PE, a civil and environmental engineer, has recently joined the firm's Oakland office as Senior Consultant.
Throughout her career, Libby has applied her engineering skills to a variety of projects, predominantly in the fields of groundwater and soil contamination and wastewater treatment. She comes to Geosyntec after spending 14 years managing environmental liability for Hewlett-Packard (HP). At HP, she was responsible for setting strategies to address environmental contamination, determining life-cycle costs of projects, and implementing chosen assessment and remediation strategies. Libby has overseen all phases of remediation including investigation, feasibility studies, risk assessment, design of remedial systems, environmental aspects of property transactions, ongoing operation and maintenance of treatment systems, as well as monitoring and reporting. In addition, projects that she has worked on have encompassed a wide range of issues and treatment technologies and have required interaction with landowners, attorneys, governmental agencies, responsible parties, consultants, and the community.
Libby earned her MS in environmental engineering from Stanford University, and her BS in civil engineering from University of California, Berkeley.
