Aimee Grossman (Florida) Aimee has more than 14 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant and is currently Controller in the Corporate Accounting, Finance and Tax department. She has been with Geosyntec since 2011 and leads a team of twelve accounting professionals and staff within the General Ledger and Accounts Payable groups. Aimee earned a B.S. in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University; a B.S. in marketing from Florida State University; and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Florida.
Al Preston, Ph.D., P.E. (California) Al has more than 15 years of experience in hydraulics, hydrodynamics, and hydrology with extensive experience in leading and managing complex water resources projects. He specializes in developing and applying hydrologic, hydraulic, hydrodynamic, nutrient, biological, water quality, climate-change, and computational fluid dynamics models to water resource problems. Al has been managing key clients and projects, and he has become a key leader in the hydrology/hydraulics practice in the branch, the western region, and nationally. Al earned a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the California Institute of Technology; an M.E. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.E. in Civil Engineering from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand; and is a registered Professional Engineer in California.
Benjamin K. Amos, Ph.D., P.E. (Georgia) Ben is a remedial design engineer with more than 11 years of experience focused on soil and groundwater remediation and the management of groundwater risks at large, complex sites, including those in the utility sector. Ben has distinguished himself through his relationships with clients, staff, and project teams. He is recognized for his ability to generate business and deliver exceptional solutions for complex groundwater sites while training and developing early and mid-career professionals to become consulting leaders. Ben is instrumental in developing strategies for addressing groundwater risks associated with coal combustion residuals (CCR). He earned a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology; a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University; and is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Mississippi, West Virginia, and Florida.
Daniel Bourdeau, P.E. (New Hampshire) Dan has more than 11 years of experience in civil and water resource engineering, with a focus in hydrologic processes, hydraulics, constructed treatment wetland design, water quality and floodplain analysis. He has expertise in stormwater design, specifically with retrofit green infrastructure designs including bioretention facilities, biofilters, and constructed treatment wetlands. Dan assists colleagues and clients by leading and managing technical civil engineering and permitting tasks. This allows him to mentor and train junior staff, often in other regions of the firm. Dan earned an M.S. in Environmental Engineering and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and is a registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Maine, and New York. He is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) and a Certified Professional in Surface Water Quality (CPSWQ).
David Vance, P.G. (Georgia) David is a geologist with more than 14 years of experience focused on ecosystem assessment and restoration. David has distinguished himself through his technical leadership and is influential in building our business in three areas: Stormwater Management, Resiliency and Adaptation, and Oil and Gas. His unique skills and abilities bridge several different practice areas and markets across the firm. David has served as a key leader in developing a shoreline restoration practice in the Gulf Coast. He has dedicated time to building Geosyntec's brand in the Mobile, Alabama market by leading proposal efforts, presenting at local conferences, and identifying and recruiting talent for the Mobile office. Fabrizio Settepani, P.E., G.E. (California) Fabrizio has more than 28 years of experience developing designs for open and closed solid waste disposal facilities. He has been a technical mentor, a trusted colleague, and a leader in his practice area. Fabrizio has taken on department co-management and has proven himself in the sell, manage, and do roles, helping to lead and grow his department to become a vital part of his branch. Fabrizio earned an M.S. in Civil Engineering and an M.S. in Construction Engineering and Management from the University of Michigan; a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan; is a registered Geotechnical Engineer in California; and a Professional Civil Engineer in California, Hawaii, and Oregon.
Hamid Amini, Ph.D., P.E. (California) Hamid has more than 16 years of experience focused on water and wastewater management process engineering design and construction, sustainable solid waste management design and construction, compliance monitoring, renewable energy generation, hydroelectric power plant design, onshore oil drilling platforms, and construction quality assurance. As the manager of Huntington Beach's process engineering group, Hamid is a key contributor to the leadership, growth, and technical advancement of the Huntington Beach branch, while actively engaged in developing work that benefits staff in multiple branches throughout the firm. Contributions include recruiting local and nationwide candidates, leading business development efforts with key industrial clients, attending and presenting at industry conferences, and supporting the applied R&D performed by his staff. His clients have primarily included large industrial interests with holdings and legacy sites around the world. Jim is a key technical and business development asset for a number of key projects. He is a technical leader with tremendous cross-branch collaboration; a critical team member and key contributor on several major projects and proposals; and has a strong and growing business development focus. Mylli Fryman (Florida) Mylli has more than 20 years of experience as a procurement professional, and supports the company's supplier management, procurement and Federal contracting efforts and initiatives. Mylli is a key leader within the Corporate Accounting, Finance and Tax department and the firm. Mylli is well respected by staff and peers throughout the firm and has demonstrated her commitment to the company and our core values. Nick Yafrate, Ph.D., P.E. (Massachusetts) Nick has more than 11 years of experience in geotechnical engineering design, geotechnical instrumentation, and solid-waste facility services. His outstanding contributions to the New England geotechnical practice have earned him immense trust from several clients and are a source of collaborative work for others in the firm. A practice leader, Nick has distinguished himself in instrumentation for landfills and has become a specialist in elevated temperature landfills (ETLFs). Paula Hutchison, P.Eng. (Ontario) Paula has more than 14 years of environmental engineering experience focused on sustainability, environmental due diligence and compliance, environmental site assessments and characterization, conceptual site model preparation, risk assessment, contaminated site management, and remediation. She has demonstrated success in business development by driving growth with current clients and also by attracting new clients to the firm. Paula is a respected and key technical professional within the firm related to our Canadian brownfields and environmental due diligence practice area. Based on her diverse technical experience working with Geosyntec's groundwater, environmental management, and risk assessment and applied toxicology practice groups, she has been able to develop contributions to the practice area of sustainability. Paula earned a B.A.Sc. in Environmental Engineering with a Chemical Specialization from the University of Waterloo and is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario.
Seth Kellogg, P.G. (New Jersey) Seth has 25 years of experience in the areas of project management, project planning, remedial investigation, feasibility study, remedial design, data evaluation, and report preparation for state and federal regulatory agencies. Seth joined Geosyntec two years ago and builds business through strong client relationships. Her technical contributions have been primarily in per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) where she helps multiple clients using her extensive technical knowledge and industry leadership. Seth is an adept supervisor and supportive colleague, frequently collaborating with employees across the firm. Seth earned an M.S. in Geology from Indiana University; a B.A. in Geology and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Alfred University; and is a registered Professional Geologist in Pennsylvania, Arkansas, and New York.
Suzanne O'Hara, P.G. (Ontario) Suzanne is a contaminant hydrogeologist with more than 20 years of field work and project management experience focused on remediation of groundwater and soil containing recalcitrant compounds using both innovative and conventional technologies. Her strong skills in hydrogeology and geology have been vital to the successful entry of new technologies to market. Suzanne contributed to the development of emulsified zero valent iron (EZVI) and was inducted to the NASA Space Hall of Fame for this innovation. She has consistently grown her practice, maintained her repeat clients and built strategic new clients. Suzanne has been a key team member on two electrokinetic (EK) field programs and has supported Savron in evaluating the geological and hydrogeological characteristics of numerous sites. She is also a lead team member on the use of a patented paste capable of extracting PCBs from surfaces. Suzanne earned an M.Sc. in Hydrogeology and an Honours Bachelor of Science, Co-Op Geology, from the University of Waterloo; she is a registered Professional Geoscientist in Ontario; and a registered Professional Geologist in New York.
Will Tanner, P.E. (Georgia) Will has more than 15 years of experience focused on geotechnical engineering from the perspective of both a contractor and a consultant. As a consultant, he has supported a variety of projects ranging from commercial, industrial, manufacturing, and retail to transportation infrastructure located in multiple geologic regions in both urban and rural settings. As a contractor, he has been involved in the design and construction of a variety of deep foundation and earth retention systems. Will has been instrumental to the success of the design phase of a number of CCR engineering projects and will play a lead role as these complex projects enter the construction phase. He has started to build a practice focused on geo-structures and the built environment and is committed to recruiting and developing talent to support his efforts. Will earned an M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University, and is a registered Professional Engineer in Georgia, North Carolina, the District of Columbia, and Indiana.
Bill Steier, P.E. (Maryland) Bill has more than 20 years of experience in civil engineering, environmental remediation, and solid waste engineering projects. A 23-year veteran of Geosyntec, his specialties are stormwater design and permitting for geoenvironmental projects, including CCR facilities, industrial facility compliance, site redevelopment, and landfills. Bill has spent his entire professional career at Geosyntec, is a strong culture carrier and a key mentor to new hires and young staff. For a number of years, he has managed a CAD department and, in this role, has provided mentoring and also driven improved workflows and increased productivity. Bill earned an M.S. and B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University and is a registered Professional Engineer in Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware.
