Dan LaPorte Joins Geosyntec as Principal Hydrogeochemist in Ontario
Dan LaPorte (Ontario) recently joined Geosyntec Consultants as a principal hydrogeochemist. He has more than 15 years of experience as a subject matter expert in hydrogeological and geochemical characterization, predictive water quality modelling, environmental monitoring programs, and site investigations. In particular, Dan's work has focused on hydrogeological and geochemical investigations within the mining sector, waste management, and urban development industries, in Canada and abroad.
At Geosyntec, Dan will leverage his experience and Geosyntec's culture of innovation and technical excellence to support the growth of our mining practice in Canada.
In past roles, Dan has prepared environmental assessments, mine closure plans, geochemical and water quality models, and developed environmental and mine waste management programs during all phases of mine life. His experience includes prediction of acid generation, metal mobility, chemical loadings for waste rock, tailings and mine water, geochemical and water quality modelling, groundwater contaminant transport, and interpretation of baseline surface water and groundwater interactions.
Additionally, Dan brings a deep knowledge of provincial and federal regulations regarding mining as well as broad field experience sampling soil, rock, sediment, groundwater, and surface water.
