Geosyntec Stormwater Practitioners Have Created Guidance to Help Clients Prepare for the Repercussions of Florida House Bill 53
In response to the passage and signing of Florida House Bill 53, Geosyntec stormwater practitioners have created guidance to help municipalities prepare for the compilation of new 20-year needs analysis requirements. The guidance summarizes the new requirements, lists deadlines, and provides contacts within the company.
In April 2021, Florida legislature passed House Bill 53, "Public Works," and in June, Florida Governor DeSantis signed it into law. The law, which takes effect next summer, requires that all counties, municipalities, and special needs districts with stormwater and/or wastewater management develop a 20-year needs analysis. In response, Geosyntec stormwater practitioners have developed a summary of requirements and look forward to working with clients to develop a thorough understanding of how the law will affect them and to begin to prepare.
While the analysis will not be required until next summer, Geosyntec advises clients to begin planning for this project now. Practitioners in our 11 offices across the state are eager to guide clients as they work toward implementation. The months ahead provide a perfect opportunity for clients to thoroughly understand and seamlessly implement this new law.
