Geosyntec Announces the Appointment of 22 New Senior Principals

Aimee Grossman, CPA (Boca Raton, Florida)
Aimee has more than 14 years of experience, and in her 10 years with Geosyntec, she has delivered consistent outstanding performance. She is our firm's Controller, leading a team of twenty-eight accounting professionals and staff. Among her many responsibilities in that role, Aimee maintains and enhances our accounting system to ensure accurate and timely measurement of the firm's financial condition and profitability, enforces the firm's accounting policies, and provides sound analysis of our financial reporting and structure. Aimee is well known for her depth of knowledge and client service focus and serves as an outstanding role model and mentor to staff. Aimee earned a B.S. in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University; a B.S. in Marketing from Florida State University; and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Florida.
Ali Ebrahimi, Ph.D., P.E. (Houston, Texas)
Ali has more than 18 years of experience focused on geotechnical engineering and design, geological hazard assessment and mitigation, geotechnical instrumentation, and monitoring technologies. He has been with Geosyntec for 11 years and co-manages the Houston geotechnical engineering group. Ali earned a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison; an M.Sc. in Geotechnical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran; a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran; and is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas, Georgia, Wisconsin, the District of Columbia, and Pennsylvania.
Amanda Overstreet, (Kennesaw, Georgia)
Amanda joined Geosyntec in 2019, has more than 17 years of industry experience, and serves as our Director of Talent Acquisition and Human Resources Compliance. Initially, Amanda joined Geosyntec as Senior Talent Acquisition Manager with full responsibility for the recruiting lifecycle. Among her many accomplishments that have provided valuable services to the firm, she led the implementation of a new applicant tracking system that streamlined the recruitment process. Recognized for her outstanding performance and effectiveness, the Human Resources Compliance function was also moved under her leadership. She ensures Geosyntec's compliance in the key areas of talent acquisition, background and drug screening processes, and affirmative action reporting. Amanda earned a B.S. in Marketing from Sam Houston State University.
Bob Glazier, P.G. (Columbia, MD)
Bob has 37 years of experience focused on site remediation, risk assessment, and environmental permitting associated with solid and hazardous waste landfills as well as power generation and manufacturing facilities. He provides strong and effective client advocacy, innovative solutions, and team leadership for a range of projects. Bob has been with Geosyntec for 14 years and is recognized across the United States as an expert in the assessment of natural attenuation and geochemistry of coal combustion residual constituents in groundwater. Bob earned an M.S. in Geochemistry and Mineralogy from Pennsylvania State University, State College; a B.S. in Geology from the University of Maryland; and is a registered Professional Geologist in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, and Tennessee.
Bryan McFarland (Boca Raton, Florida)
Bryan joined the firm as a contractor in late 2005 and has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication to firm culture, while demonstrating technical leadership and providing strategic direction to the evolution of our IT department and services. His current primary technical expertise is in Information Security (InfoSec), SQL, SharePoint, .NET, and related programming and development technologies. His primary focus has been to grow and strengthen our IT security practice. Key efforts include helping lead the delivery of cybersecurity awareness training, security system implementations, policy changes, and hardening of technology solutions. Bryan earned a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Chad Bird, P.E. (San Diego, California)
Chad has more than 21 years of professional experience focused on site characterization and remediation. He specializes in engineering, design, and project management for remediation projects using various treatment technologies. He has been with Geosyntec since the start of his career and is a technical remediation expert in the firm. Chad earned an M.S. in Environmental Engineering and Science from Clemson University; a B.S. in Physics from Georgia Institute of Technology; and is a registered Professional Civil Engineer in Arizona and California.
Chris Lieder, P.G. (San Diego Central, California)
Chris is a Senior Geologist with over 20 years of experience focusing on environmental assessments, remedial investigations, implementation of remedial action plans, site characterization and assessment, applied bioremediation, environmental permitting, and aiding clients with diverse environmental and regulatory issues. Chris has been with Geosyntec for 17 years and is a technical site characterization and construction services expert in the firm. He co-manages the San Diego site assessment and remediation group and serves on the Construction Health & Safety Committee. Chris earned an M.S. in Geological Sciences and a B.S. in Geological Sciences from San Diego State University and is a registered Professional Geologist in California.
Daniel Lee, P.E., CCM (Los Angeles Downtown, California)
Daniel has more than 16 years of experience working on a variety of private and public development projects in all phases of the project life cycle, including planning, engineering design, regulatory compliance, and construction management. His experience focuses on land development projects; water infrastructure (treatment, storage, and distribution); and stormwater facilities. Daniel has been with Geosyntec for six years and has a civil design and construction management practice out of our downtown Los Angeles office. Daniel earned an M.S. in Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering and a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California Los Angeles; is a registered Professional Civil Engineer in California; a Certified Construction Manager; a Certified Construction Contract Administrator; a Certified Construction Specifier; a LEED AP, an Envision Sustainability Professional, a Qualified SWPPP Developer; and a Qualified SWPPP Practitioner.
David Himmelheber, Ph.D., P.E. (Pennington, New Jersey)
Dave has more than 13 years of experience with contaminated sediments focused on site investigations and remedial design for complex, multiple stakeholder projects. He excels at providing top-level technical expertise balanced with sensible project management skills. He has been with the firm since 2008 and is a leader in the sediments practice. Dave earned a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering and an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology; a B.S. in Chemistry from Salisbury University; and is a registered Professional Engineer in Delaware.
Eric Suchomel, Ph.D. (Berkeley, California)
Eric has more than 15 years of experience in environmental engineering and project management. His experience includes remedial program management, site investigation and characterization, feasibility study preparation, remedial system design and implementation, remedial system optimization, litigation technical support, and preparation of engineering cost estimates under the oversight of regulatory agencies. He has been with Geosyntec for more than 15 years. Eric earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology; a B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Iowa; and is a registered Professional Engineer in California.
James Peale, R.G., L.H.G. (Portland, Oregon)
James has over 28 years of experience as a hydrogeologist and has held a variety of positions at all levels of project management and responsibility. His areas of technical expertise include investigation, assessment, remediation, and closure of impacted sites; contaminant fate and transport and groundwater modeling; statistical analysis of environmental data; and forensic evaluation in the context of allocation of liability. He has been with Geosyntec for four years, co-manages the Portland geoenvironmental group, and is a well-known environmental consultant in the Pacific Northwest. James earned an M.S. in Environmental Science from the Oregon Graduate Institute of Science and Technology; a B.A. in Geology from Vassar College; and is a registered Geologist in Oregon and a Licensed Hydrogeologist in the State of Washington.
Jeff Roberts (Guelph, Ontario)
Jeff has 20 years of technical experience in the laboratory assessment and field implementation of soil, sediment, and groundwater remediation technologies at sites containing contaminants, including chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, emerging contaminants, and other recalcitrant compounds. Jeff has technical experience in the growth, scale up, and field implementation of several anaerobic microbial cultures for bioremediation remedies. Over the past two decades with our firm, he has conducted and managed hundreds of bench-scale batch and column treatability studies. He has made significant contributions to the expansion of SiREM's product offerings. Jeff earned an M.Sc. in Earth Science and a B.Sc. in Environmental Science from the University of Waterloo.
Jen Huha, P.G. (Blue Bell, Pennsylvania)
Jen joined the firm in January 2019 as a Principal Geologist and has 28 years of experience supporting a variety of complex environmental programs under state and federal regulations. She specializes in managing client programs and liability associated with the investigation and remediation of contaminated sites and environmental due diligence. Jen earned an M.S. in Engineering Geology from Drexel University; a B.S. in Geology from Juniata College and is a registered Professional Geologist in Pennsylvania and is a Certified Project Management Professional.
Kwasi Badu Tweneboah, Ph.D., P.E., D.GE, F. ASCE (Jacksonville, Florida)
Kwasi has more than 34 years of consulting and research experience focused on the design, permitting, construction, operation, and closure of containment systems for solid, hazardous and radiological wastes, sediments, and surface impoundments; and geosynthetics applications in civil engineering. Kwasi earned a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Florida; an M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering from Arizona State University; a B.S. in Civil Engineering from University of Science & Technology, Ghana; and is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida and 12 other states.
Lisa Austin P.E. (Oakland, California)
Lisa has 30 years of experience focused on water quality and stormwater management. She has in-depth knowledge of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitting; municipal stormwater program planning and operations; and stormwater best management practice (BMP) selection, design, and maintenance. She has been with Geosyntec for two decades and is a California stormwater subject matter expert and industry leader and a recognized California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) expert on water. Lisa earned an M.S. in Civil Engineering and a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Southern Illinois University; and is a registered Professional Civil Engineer in California and the State of Washington.
Marlaina Auger (Guelph, Ontario)
Marlaina has 21 years of experience in process engineering design and project management focused on remediation, evaluation, design, construction, and operations optimization of systems for the treatment of contaminated soil and groundwater. She is co-branch manager of Canadian Operations, managing five departments with more than 150 staff. Marlaina began her career with Geosyntec as a Staff Engineer in 2003. She provides engineering solutions to remediation field programs, particularly first to field implementations, and also specializes in the management of complex projects. Marlaina earned a B.A.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is a Member of the Professional Engineers Ontario.
Michelle Bowers (Richmond, Virginia)
Michelle joined our firm in 2006 as the Manager of Accounts Payable and Payroll and moved into an HR role in 2009 and is currently Director of HR Operations. She manages HR operations, including partnering with business leaders across the firm, including globally, on total compensation, performance management, employee development, onboarding, and rewards and recognition. Core among her responsibilities is overseeing the main functions of an employee's lifecycle with the firm. She also provides key leadership on technical HR projects in many areas, including mentoring, onboarding, and compliance. Michelle earned a B.A. in International Affairs from James Madison University and holds the Society for Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional and HRCI's Senior Professional Human Resources certifications.
Saverio Siciliano, P.G., C.E.G. (Orange County, California)
Saverio is a Certified Engineering Geologist with 24 years of experience in engineering geology, geotechnical engineering, and geoenvironmental engineering in California and abroad. He has been with Geosyntec for 18 years and manages waste-to-energy, large-scale infrastructure, and green infrastructure projects. Saverio earned an M.S. in Civil (Geotechnical) Engineering from the University of Southern California; an M.S./B.S. in Geological Sciences from the University of Ferrara, Italy; and is a certified Engineering Geologist and is a registered Professional Geologist in California.
Scott Walker (Austin, Texas)
Scott is an ecologist with more than 23 years of experience in project management, environmental impact assessment, ecological restoration, and environmental permitting and planning. He is an expert in threatened and endangered species surveys, critical habitat analysis, wetland and stream delineations, marine and freshwater biological assessments, scientific diving, stormwater monitoring, geodatabase development, and mapping. He has been with Geosyntec for more than four years and is a leader in our firm's Environmental Permitting & Planning practice. He is also widely recognized as a leader in this practice area within regulatory, client and consulting communities across the United States. Scott earned an M.S.in Environmental Studies and a B.S. in Environmental Biology and Ecology from Texas A&M University.
Silvia Mancini, Ph.D., P.Geo. (Toronto, Ontario)
Silvia has over 17 years of experience focused on innovative solutions in site characterization, water management, and treatment in the mining and metals, manufacturing, oil and gas, and legal sectors. Silvia specializes in working closely with her clients to develop water management and site closure strategies, including identifying, testing, and bringing innovative technologies to implementation at challenging sites. She has been with Geosyntec for more than seven years and serves as the manager of the Canadian Operations mining geochemistry group. Sylvia earned a Ph.D. in Geology, an M.Sc. in Geology, and a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences from the University of Toronto; and is a registered Professional Geoscientist in Ontario and British Columbia.
Todd Creamer, P.G. (Asheville, North Carolina)
Todd has more than 25 years of experience in environmental consulting, surface water hydrology, and oil and natural gas exploration and production. His work has focused on characterizing and remediating industrial, institutional, and residential properties impacted by chlorinated solvents and petroleum hydrocarbons. In his 15 years with Geosyntec, Todd has served as Department Manager for two offices in New England and currently manages two offices in the Carolinas. He is well-known at our firm and in the industry as a practice lead for vapor intrusion. Todd earned an M.S. in Geology from North Carolina State University; a B.A. in Geology and Native American Studies from the University of Rochester; and is a registered Professional Geologist in California, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wyoming.
Tom Fendley, P.E. (Kennesaw, Georgia)
Tom has more than 39 years of experience in civil infrastructure design, construction engineering and contract administration, water resources engineering, and stormwater management. Tom has been with Geosyntec for over 10 years and led the establishment of our Mobile, Alabama office. He is a strong collaborator and plays key technical leadership and management roles for coastal and waterfront projects. Tom earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology; and is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama, Georgia, Ohio, and South Carolina.
