Ali Ebrahimi is a Principal Geotechnical Engineer based in Texas with more than 15 years of experience focused on the geotechnical engineering and design, geological hazard assessment and mitigation, and geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring technologies.


Ali's area of expertise is applying various technologies for geotechnical subsurface characterization, slope stabilization, ground improvement, foundation design, and geological hazard assessment and mitigation. He has served his clients with innovative assessment of geological hazards affecting gas pipelines using LiDAR and inertial measurement unit (IMU) ILI technologies and developing novel solutions to manage or mitigate the geological hazard using cost effective construction technologies with minimum long-term maintenance cost. He also specializes in development of geotechnical design, bid package and review, and construction quality control.

Leading complex projects, Ali has developed and implemented turn-key state-of-art and state-of-practice geotechnical and structural instrumentation and montioring systems for montioring the performance of various infrastructures during construction or infrastructures affected by geological hazards. He serves as subject matter expert (SME) for design, installation, data processing and management, and data interpretation of geotechnical monitoring systems for dams, bridges, landfills, embankments, and pipelines. Currently he is a program manager for a nationwide monitoring system which is collecting and managing more than 20,000 geotechnical and structural monitoring data points daily.

Ali has contributed to publications of several industry documents, such as the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) with "Manual on Subsurface Investigations" and Joint Industry Project for INGAA with "Guidelines for Management of Landslide Hazards for Pipelines" on topics ranging from geotechnical engineering, geological hazards, dam safety and geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring.
