Andrew Montgomery is a Senior Principal Engineer based in Georgia with more than 20 years of environmental consulting experience focused on developing regulatory and risk-based strategies to achieve cost-effective site closure and redevelopment of properties impacted with chlorinated solvents, metals, and petroleum hydrocarbons. In addition, he works with Fortune 500 companies to develop and implement environmental management programs.
During the past decade, Andrew has managed and performed contaminated soil and groundwater investigations, human health risk assessments, and remedial designs for multiple sites regulated under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Recovery Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and various state regulations. Remedial technologies evaluated or implemented under his direction include monitored natural attenuation, bioaugmentation, air sparging, zero-valent iron, in situ chemical oxidation, and soil vapor extraction.
Andrew also has managed several sites under the Georgia Brownfields Program including projects funded via U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's brownfields grants. For a rails-to-trails brownfields projects he developed the first recreational trail user scenarios approved by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division that facilitated site cleanup, property transfer, and beneficial reuse.
Complementing Andrew’s expertise with site assessment is his notable success and experience with environmental due diligence and compliance. He has broad experience performing multimedia compliance audits and preparing spill prevention control and countermeasures plans and stormwater pollution prevention plans to help his clients meet compliance requirements.
