Brian Smith, P.G.

Brian's site investigation and remediation experience includes assisting clients with planning and implementing remedial investigations, risk assessments, feasibility studies, remedial design and construction, and remedial system operation and maintenance (O&M) services.  He has worked with clients whose sites are regulated under a wide variety of state and federal regulatory programs, including RCRA, CERCLA, underground storage tank and voluntary cleanup programs.  He has completed numerous remediation projects, employing a wide range of remedies, including excavation, capping, groundwater extraction and treatment, free phase hydrocarbon recovery, dual phase extraction, soil vapor extraction, chemical oxidation, bioremediation, and other remedial technologies. Applying his broad project management and field experience, Brian works with clients to develop comprehensive site investigation and remediation strategies designed to meet environmental and financial management goals as well as address applicable regulatory requirements.

In conjunction with his site investigation and remediation practice, Brian also has extensive due diligence and environmental compliance experience. His experience includes completing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) in accordance with the U.S. EPA's All Appropriate Inquiry/ASTM E1527 requirements and assisting with environmental liability valuations in support of property transactions, land redevelopment, asset retirement and portfolio management. Brian has a broad knowledge and experience working with a variety of environmental regulatory programs and assists clients with compliance audits, chemical inventories, waste management, emissions reports, permit applications, spill plans, stormwater management plans, and pollution prevention plans for hazardous materials.
