Michael D'Alessandro is a Senior Principal Environmental and Civil Engineer based in Georgia with more than 25 years of experience focused on the development of environmental and infrastructure projects using design and build and performance-based implementation strategies. He has special expertise as a construction engineering consultant, engineering practitioner, and project and program management specialist.


With project and program management experience that encompasses all phases of capital projects for municipal and industrial utility and infrastructure projects, Mike has worked at locations in the United States, Europe, and South America. As a project manager, his specific responsibilities have included present-worth cost estimating, negotiating capital financing, code investigations, multidisciplinary engineering coordination, equipment and subcontractor procurement, construction management, and facility commissioning.

Major projects have included the design and construction of wastewater treatment plants for a soft drink manufacturer at domestic and international locations, a hazardous materials storage warehouse and transfer facility for a major U.S. defense contractor, an industrial wastewater treatment facility for a U.S.-based pharmaceutical manufacturer, and a medical waste incinerator for an EU based pharmaceutical manufacturer.

In addition, Mike has provided training in project management best practices to more than 10,000 engineering, architectural, and construction professionals working for Engineering News Record Top 500 Design firms. He routinely serves as an invited speaker to international professional associations on project management and organizational excellence.
