Becky Oliver is a Principal Engineer based in California with more than 14 years of experience in geoenvironmental engineering; mine infrastructure, tailings impoundment, and waste closure design; and vapor and gas intrusion mitigation design.


Examples of Becky's practice experience include serving as: lead designer and design engineer-of-record for mine waste covers including earthen and geosynthetic cover systems and the associated surface water management; design engineer-of-record for numerous gas mitigation systems in southern California including Los Angeles' methane zone and Hancock Park area; and lead designer for several legacy landfill and illegal disposal site closures.

Becky works alongside owners, architects, regulators, and other stakeholders to develop site-specific designs meeting project goals. She has presented on mine cover drainage considerations and corrective action management unit design and construction and authored and coauthored papers on the use of geosynthetics over mine waste rock. She was also the lead designer on the American Society of Civil Engineers' Award-Winning Brawley Solid Waste Site Closure Project.
