Susan Brodie is a Senior Environmental Scientist based in Colorado with more than 23 years of experience focused on clean and renewable energy, sustainability, and environmental management.


Clients turn to Susan for advice on clean and renewable energy opportunities and for support of their environmental management systems and sustainability, environment, social, and governance (ESG) programs. A practical leader, creative problem solver, and subject matter expert, she builds and advances sustainability programs and leads project teams as they develop initiatives and programs that result in tangible and measurable ESG benefits.

Before joining Geosyntec, Susan ran a national trade association focused on converting industrial waste heat to clean electricity, supported clean energy technology innovators seeking market opportunities in the United States, and developed and implemented companywide EHS management systems for a multinational manufacturing company. In addition, she has supported compliance assurance and auditing programs for a large oil and gas company, partnered with municipalities and state and federal agencies, and influenced public policy related to energy systems.

Recently, Susan led the development of an innovative geodatabase and web mapping application to increase renewable energy development on brownfield sites in Colorado. She also provided clean energy outreach to utilities and commercial and industrial companies for a state energy office. She has held corporate roles at Conoco and GE and was Executive Director of the Heat is Power Association. Susan practices collaborative problem-solving, tailors complex communications for diverse audiences, and engages with stakeholders and business partners to help her clients achieve their energy, sustainability, and ESG goals.
