Geosyntec provided assistance to Wilbur-Ellis in support of the preparation of industrial stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs) for their Wenatchee and Ellensburg, Washington facilities.
These facilities warehouse and distribute farm chemicals. As a result of regulatory site inspections, the Washington Department of Ecology directed Wilbur-Ellis to apply for coverage under the state’s Industrial Stormwater General Permit for both of the facilities.
Geosyntec Scope of Services
Geosyntec prepared a SWPPP template that incorporates simple instructions to assist Wilbur-Ellis in preparing the site-specific SWPPPs. The SWPPP template addresses all elements required to comply with Ecology’s 2008 Industrial Stormwater General Permit (reissued on October 15, 2008) and considers the “Guidance Manual for Preparing/Updating a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan for Industrial Facilities” (Ecology, 2004) and other available Ecology guidance. Geosyntec reviewed, provided comments, and assisted in finalizing the draft SWPPPs prepared by Wilbur-Ellis.
Geosyntec provided a easy-to-use SWPPP template that enabled the facility site managers to prepare their own SWPPPs, thereby taking ownership of the document and learning how to effectively manage their stormwater in compliance with state requirements for industrial facilities.
