Geosyntec provides quality assessment services to aid building owners, employers, and government agencies as they identify, diagnose, and solve occupant health problems associated with the built environment.
Our certified industrial hygienists and toxicologists conduct scientific assessments and work alongside our construction services professionals to develop project-specific solutions to address a wide range of human health, exposure, and causation matters ranging from combustion products to Legionnaires’ Disease and mold.
Through our additional services in product and material testing and risk communication support, we can provide a holistic approach to our clients needs that address every aspect of their building health issues from initial assessment of the building and communicating the risk to occupants, to controlling or eliminating the problem.
Indoor air issues have become widely recognized as significant challenges facing developers, property managers, real estate holding companies, and others. Geosyntec practitioners specialize in solving these complex industrial hygiene challenges, which affect workplace operations, occupant health, and staff comfort and productivity. Our practitioners address these problems by anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling known and emerging hazards in the workplace and the community.
To address the challenges posed by indoor air chemical pollutants, Geosyntec’s in-house toxicologists assist our clients by determining if there are risks to building occupants associated with measured or calculated exposures to indoor pollutants. With reliable, high-quality data, our clients can make evidence-based decisions when implementing engineering controls, deploying remediation measures, or relocating occupants.
Our extensive experience in communicating complex, and sometimes disconcerting, findings to employees and community members enables us to provide comprehensive risk communication support services. Our senior practitioners strive to calmly and confidently speak with the public on complex matters that can potentially impact their health while maintaining a sense of transparency and professionalism.
Advancing the State of the Practice
Geosyntec’s credentialed practitioners are recognized as leading experts in the fields of indoor air pollutants, industrial hygiene, toxicology, risk communication, and product and material evaluation. They remain active in academic research and frequently publish their findings in peer-reviewed journals and present them at national and international scientific conferences.
