Both global and local responses of the riser systems are assessed for clients using tools including OrcaFlex, ABAQUS, and ANSYS.Geosyntec has experience in the design of steel catenary risers (SCR), unbounded flexible risers, and umbilicals located throughout the world - in both shallow and deep water.
We have been involved in the complete project cycle including conceptual design, front end engineering design (FEED), detailed design, and subsequent support for offshore installation.
Our work experience includes stress, fatigue and durability analyses, installation analysis, and interference assessments of SCR and flexible risers. We have also performed the design of bend stiffeners and bend restrictors for flexible risers, and the specification of buoyancy and weight modules. Our analysis procedures are aimed at effective assessment of system performance as early in the design cycle as possible, and efficient design through conceptual, preliminary, and final system design. Detailed finite element analysis can be performed to provide support for the component design and structural validation in riser systems.
